About the ribbon
ViewerFX for Crystal Reports organizes its commands in a ribbon at the top of the window. The ribbon has two tabs: Report Viewer, for working with report files, and Preview, for working within the open report.

Note: Hold the mouse pointer over a command for a moment to see its name.
Report Viewer tab
Section titled “Report Viewer tab”The Report Viewer tab holds the commands that act on report files:
- Report — work with report files: Open (see Opening reports), Close, and Recent, a drop-down list of recently opened reports.
- Favorites — save and organize favorite reports: Add (see Saving favorites) and Organize (see Organizing favorites).
- Send — deliver the open report: Print, Export, Email, and FTP (see About report distribution).
- View — Refresh the report’s data, open Settings (the Settings window, for managing saved tools and customizing the work area — see Customizing the application), and Tabs, a drop-down for switching between and closing open reports (see Using the navigation tabs).
- Support — product support commands: Activate (see Activating the product), Help (opens this documentation site in your browser), About, and Update.
Preview tab
Section titled “Preview tab”The Preview tab holds the commands that act within the open report:
- Panels — show or hide report panels: Parameters, which toggles Crystal Reports’ own parameter side-panel, and Groups, the report’s group tree (see Navigating with the group tree).
- Navigation — move through the report: Find Text (see Finding words in a report), First, Previous, Next, Last, and a Go to Page box for jumping to a page by its number (see Paging through reports).
- View — adjust the view: Zoom (see Magnifying and reducing the view), the record-selection Formula (see Using the selection formula), and Close View, which closes the open report.
- Tools — Command Line, which opens the Command Line Builder (see Command line parameters).
Note: Both tabs have a View group, but they hold different commands — the Report Viewer tab’s View group has Refresh, Settings, and Tabs, while the Preview tab’s View group has Zoom, Formula, and Close View.
