Emailing a report

If you have an email application and mail server connection, you can send an email message from ViewerFX for Crystal Reports with a Crystal Report as an attachment.

In Windows, ViewerFX for Crystal Reports uses the Messaging Application Program Interface (MAPI) to communicate with your email application. Most email applications come with MAPI settings to handle this communication.

To email a Crystal Report:

•         Open the Crystal Report that you want to attach to an email message.

•         Click the Email button from the standard toolbar.

•         Select Current Section (the currently viewed sub-report or drill-down) or Entire Report (the complete report).

•         The Email dialog box will appear.

•         Click the Attach As button and select the output formats (See Export format types) that you want attached to the email. Multiple formats can be specified.

•         Click the Send Using button and select the mail client (See Working with SMTP Servers) that you want to use to send your email message.

•         Address and write your email message, and then send it. Your report is attached automatically to the email message that you send.

•         If necessary, switch to your email application to finish sending the message.
