Working with bookmarks
To set up an FTP program connection, you will need four pieces of information: your Host, your Username, your Password, and your Remote Host Directory.
To setup a password protected FTP connection to a site:
• Double-Click the Create Bookmark button • The Add FTP Server dialog box will appear.
• In the "Display name" field, type in any name by which you would like to refer to this FTP site. • In the "FTP Server Address" field, type in the domain name of the FTP site (e.g. ftp.domain.com or just domain.com) or IP address (e.g. 192.168.10.119) as was given to you by your Web hosting provider. • In the optional "Startup directory" field, type in whatever information was provided by your Web hosting provider. In most cases, this field is not required. • In the User name and Password fields, type in whatever security information was provided by your Web hosting provider. Note: To connect anonymously leave these fields blank. • To test the provided connection settings click the Test button. • Click OK. A new bookmark to the FTP site will be created. |
